Public policy and advocacy has been, and continues to be, a central activity for United Way of New York State: particularly for those issues and positions that relate to local United Ways' community building and fundraising activities.

These issues and priorities are reflective of work that is key to the capacity of United Ways to meet the human care needs of their communities, and where our active involvement along with key partners can result in sustained and positive change.

The Statewide SEFA Council completed work on review of local and statewide applications for the 2008 SEFA campaign. All applicants are reviewed on the basis of the eligibility requirements in the SEFA regulations. Letters were mailed to the applicants informing them of the Council's decisions by April 4.

The links to the spreadsheets below are arranged in alphabetical order by charitable federation, providing the decision for each applicant.  If the applicant was denied admission, the reason for denial is also provided.  For more information contact Council Chair George Goldsmith at goldsmith12110@aol.com  or SEFA Director Patricia Forbes at sefadirector@uwnys.org.
