Promising Practices for Achieving Impact
It is widely held that community impact is a journey. What is not as widely acknowledged is that in this transformation process, many United Ways have already made significant progress in achieving impact. Sharing these efforts can help colleagues address similar challenges in their own communities. Towards that end, several United Ways have provided the following examples of Community Impact:

February 25, 2007 -- Emergency Preparedness Guide - This guide is intended for United Ways to use as a planning tool to prepare for the unforeseen emergency or disaster. The guide takes the best of what we have learned from others across the country and here in New York State. The sections help United Way staff to make plans with their families, and for their United Way operations. Another section is a tool for United Ways to use in planning with community partners so that both short term relief and long term recovery needs are met, in coordination with local, state and federal government.
